Great comment. Saturated fat is definitely not as bad as many people believe. In fact I covered that very topic in this post. trans fats and an unbalanced intake of polyunsaturated fats generally cause more health problems than saturated fats.

Is saturated fat alone such a horrible thing, maybe not. Combine that with our sedentary lifestyles, absolutely. They may have consumed more saturated fat prior to the 1920s, but you can sure as hell bet they were in better shape too. Unsaturated fat is what our cells our built with, it's meant to be active and used relatively quickly. Saturated fat stores energy better and so is laid down and stored to be used later when we need it. Problem is, sitting around on our butts all day, we aren't telling our bodies to use it, so we just keep storing more and more saturated fat. And if there isn't enough UNsaturated fat in your diet, your body will begin using the saturated fat to build your cell walls instead. And saturated fat is inflammatory, so it causes local inflammation. And yes, that causes problems, especially if that inflammation is near your heart...

So, everything in balance and moderation my friends. And for god sake, get off your butt!
