I always use them in my cooking but one of my flat mates can't stand them. I couldn't imagine most meals without them.

Thanks Andrew. I try to incorporate them into almost every meal I cook. Thankyou also for the point about Twinings. I personally don't mind the taste of green tea but I have tried a few of the Twinings offerings and they are absolutely top notch. I've not tried adding fresh lemon yet but I imagine it would be quite refreshing.
As for the point about green tea containing caffeine you are completely correct. I forgot to mention this. I too never drink caffeine at night because it keeps me away. I buy a pack of caffeinated and a pack of non-caffeinated green tea when I do my shopping. I then save the non-caffeinated green teas and drink one just before I go to bed. I find it really helps me unwind without any of the unwanted effects of caffeine i.e. being wide awake.
Hope you have a happy, healthy Christmas too :-)

Thanks for your comments Tuscany. I love mushrooms. Thanks for your very informative blog. I'm always popping over to have a read but this is my first comment. I am smiling away reading this post as I eat a lot of mushrooms lately and drink green tea! :o) I'm trying to lose weight primarily, however, have been very pleased with all the noticiable health benefits I've seen just by adding green tea and more vegetables to my diet. And of course, cutting out the crap!
Anyway........my point......(I rabbit on sometimes, sorry :o)
For anyone that doesnt like the taste of green tea. I had the same problem. However, Twining do a range that have have added crannberry or mango or citrus etc. And these are much more pallatable. I also heard if you squeeze fresh lemon into the tea the health benefits are increased and it tastes nicer too :o)
One thing that I have to disagree with tho, is the 'you can drink it any time of day'. The only reason I know this is that I can't drink anything caffeine at night as it keeps me awake. And, at first, I didnt realise that green tea is caffienated!!! So guess who stayed awake all night? lol So, for those susceptible to caffeine, its not a good idea.
Happy, healthy Xmas to you!!
