Pre-Diabetes Explained

Diabetes occurs when your blood glucose/sugar levels (the body's primary source of energy) are elevated because the body is not producing enough insulin (the hormone which helps your body to break down sugar/glucose) or the insulin in the body is not working as it should be. Pre-diabetes usually precedes full type 2 diabetes and describes a person with higher than normal blood glucose levels.
